So I've been so busy this week and last.. doing almost full time hours at work ...on top of uni…

and i have a tonne of deadlines for next week…

so this is just quick…

SO i just downloaded her full album and forgot how amazing she is, and how much i LOVE her cover of this song, originally by the XX. 

Also this time last week one of my best friends Georgia and I went and saw one of my favourite bands ever.

Kitty, Daisy and Lewis.

They are possibly the best band I've ever seen live.. which is a strong statement to make.. but I've thrown it out there.

So I haven't done a fashion post in a while.
But i finally have some fashion food. 


It comes in the form of Mara Hoffman's Autumn 2011 collection.

Its all about length, patterns and BACKS.


I think detailing on the back of a garment is almost more important than the front & Mara Hoffman seems to have a weighted importance on back detailing. 


Even though she uses red in her colour palette, the whole collection as a whole is quite muted but definitely not dull. Her use of patterns and turbans combined with the strong shapes of some of the garments gives the whole collection an 'East meets West' feel that i have fallen in love with.

So today I spent the afternoon making butterflies.

Inspired by Paul Villinski I made my bedroom a little less bland.

I realised on reflection I made them all the same size, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Plus I had my last shift at Brent Cross Topshop on saturday,

I got a beautiful bunch of flowers, sweets and a card which was so lovely

& as much as I winged about working there I will miss the team.

But I'm looking forward to starting work at the Stratford Topshop.

Latest obsession.

So moving into a new room is exciting, but most of all it is like a blank canvas. 


I always have an eye out for art of photography which i can recreate or take inspiration from to fill my own walls seeming as right now i cant afford the real thing. 


So i introduce you to Paul Villinski…

I am literally obsessed with his work. I could look at it forever.

I have always taken an interest in butterfly taxidermy… (I'm not sure if that is the correct term) but the idea that you can capture such beauty and keep it, is somewhat cruel but infatuating. 

his use of shadow through out all his work is a contributing factor to his intricate and well thought out pieces. 

Another factor is that a lot of his materials are recycled or found on the streets of New York where he lives and works. 

You might recognise his work if you watch Gossip Girl. Serena's room has an installation created by Villinski.

I am going to spend the next week trying to personalise my room with fresh inspiration from this amazing artist.

So i am ALL in favour of a good flatform, but i can't work out whether to Love or Loathe these?!

I think I'm in limbo because when you take away the platform the trainers themselves, well they're not the nicest things I've ever seen, however i think the more i look at them, the more i want a pair…

they do feel like a blast from the past, and I'm all up for recycled fashion… but i just don't know.

So...

I'm officially a resident of E1, 


its where I've wanted to live for a while now, it's funny how everything clicks into place all at once.


well anyways the point of me being here is so i can be closer to my uni and I'm going to be working in the new Westfield in Stratford which is like 5 minutes away on the tube from me. This is all relevant because i will be able to post more frequently now and will have a lot more to say and a lot more time,  hopefully.


Well i thought i would share with you my rather sporadic packing…

I can not tell you how hard it is to decide what is necessary especially as i have to clear out my entire room back at home as it will no longer be saved for me…

i now have back ache after lugging 3 bags and a suitcase from one side of london to the other.

MOVING.

So i just thought i would share with you why i haven't been posting.


I've been in Leeds for the past week and yesterday i picked up the keys for my NEW FLAT.


so today i am packing… or throwing stuff in a suitcase more like… as I'm going to take stuff up gradually!!

hallowe'en

So halloween is my favourite holiday.
I don't really know why but it is - possibly my love for American culture.

I have some crazy ideas for fancy dress... They're heavy (i don't mean to blow my own trumpet.)
I'll be sure to take some pictures.

I'm also planning on waking up SUPER early tomorrow and have a Halloween creative day.

So I normally just don't post if I'm feeling uninspired.
It's not for any reason other than that I can't find anything that seems new and exciting.




So I think I'm going to take my DSLR out on a hike this week.
I got a new film camera last week from a charity shop which i am LOVING.


but for now since I want to go and see 'Midnight In Paris' this weekend when it comes out i will make this post Parisian inspired.


 - Paris is one of my favourite places, I've visited there quite a lot last year and had the most amazing time with some of my favourite people.


Because this video is pretty irrelevant but make me want to be french.

So I'm not really a fan of just re-posting 'pretty' photo's on my blog, but this is different.

These are the work of Eleanor Hardwick. 

I d'ont think she does anything that hasn't been seen before but as a body of work it is just aesthetically perfect.

there is dreamy haze about each image. 

whether she incorporates people or not every image is delicate and endearing. It seems there is a magical tale behind each image.
